◇describing 꾸며주는말 : 형용사 부사

Adjective형용사 + NOUN명사

>> 명사를 꾸며주는(수식) 형용사

adverb부사 + 명사 외 (verb 동사, adjective 형용사, adverb 부사)

>> 명사가 아닌 나머지를 꾸며주는 부사

형용사

She's wearing a pretty dress. : 명사 앞

She was pretty. : (be) 동사 뒤

부사

We walked slowly.  동사 수식

She was very pretty. 형용사 수식

We walked very slowly. 부사 수식

◇Quantifier 수량한정사

a lot of, many, much 

a lot of  with countable and uncountable nouns

Ben has a lot of action figures.

I don't drink a lot of coffee.

Is there a lot of information on the website?

>> in all types of sentences

셀수 있는거 없는거 다 됨

many  with countable nouns

Ben has many action figures.

He hasn't bought many action figures this year.

How many action figures does he have?

>> in all types of sentences

셀 수 있는 명사에 붙임

much  with uncountable nouns

I don't drink much coffee.

Is there much information on the website?

How much does it cost to make a website?

>> in negative sentences & questions

셀수 없는 명사와 함께 부정문과 의문문에 쓰임

◇(a) few, (a) little

(a) few - countable nouns 셀 수 있는 명사 조금

He has a few bags.

He has few bags. 

*그냥 few 는 negative 의미

그는 가방이 약간 있다.

그는 가방이 거의 없다

(a) little - uncountable noun 셀수 없는 명사 조금

I ate a little bread in the morning.

Nicole isn't vegetarian, but she eats little meat.

난 아침에 빵 조금 먹었다

니콜은 채식주의자는 아지미만 고기는 거의 안먹는다

◇adjective + noun

Suzi is a young woman from Korea.

I saw a beautiful yellow butterfly.

*명사를 두개의 형용사(beautiful, yellow)로 수식할 수도 있음

◇Be verb + adjective

Suzi is young.

The night was cold and dark.

수지는 젊다.

그 밤은 춥고 어두웠다.

◇look, sound, smell, taste, feel + adjective

누구를 꾸며주는지 꼭 생각하기!

You look nice today.

*you를 꾸며주니까 부사가 아니고 형용사 nice임

A: Shall we go shopping?

B: That sounds great.

I feel wonderful!

◇~ing/~ed(p.p.) as adjectives

형용사 같은거(형용사로 굳어져 많이 쓰임)

That's an interesting question.

The movie was boring.

Are you tired?

Don't touch the broken glass.

그거 흥미로운 질문이군요

그 영화 지루했어

너 피곤해?

깨진 유리를 만지지 마세요

난 시간이 많이 없어
