부사 명사 이외의 것을 꾸며줌, 동사수식, 형용사수식, 부사수식
◇adjective + ly = adverb
bad - badly
careful - carefully
nice - nicely
quick - quickly
slow - slowly
Andy is bad at math.
He did badly on the exam.
앤디는 수학을 잘 못해요
그는 시험을 잘 못봤다
That's a nice jacket.
She always dresses very nicely.
그거 멋진 재킷이야
그녀는 항상 아주 잘 입는다.
◇early, fast, hard, late
형용사도 되고 부사도 되는애들
I'm an early riser. (형용사)
I usually get up early in the morning. (부사)
나는 아침형인간이다(아침 일찍 일어나요)
*뭘 잘한다고 할때 ~하는 사람이다 고 주로 표현함
Ants are hard workers.
They work hard.
Why were you late this morning?
Andy often goes to bed late.
◇well
*good -> well
bad -> badly
Ben is good at math.
He did well on the exam.
well is also adjective.
형용사로도 쓰임(뜻: 건강한)
I'm not feeling very well today.
A : How are your parents?
B : They're very well, thank you.
나 오늘 건강하지 않는다고 느낌(컨디션이 안좋아)
네 부모님 안녕하셔?
아주 건강하셔~ 정정하셔~
◇so, very, quite, really, terribly
Thank you so much.
I don't dance very well.
He's quite good at dancing.
He really likes her.
I'm terribly sorry.

◇adverbs 의 위치
after a verb( and an object)
부사는 맨 뒤에 오는 경우가 많더라
S + V + O + Ad
I get up early every day.
I know him very well.
At the beginning of a sentence
문장 맨 앞에 오기도 하더라
*중간에 끼지는 않더라
Ad+S+V+O
Luckily, nobody was hurt.
Perhaps he can help you.
◇after a Be type of verb, before a Do type of verb
*그런데 특별히 비동사뒤, 일반동사 앞에 쓸 수도 있더라
Be type :
am, are, is / was, were
have/has (p.p)
will/would
can/could
do/does/did(you/he/she...?)
Do type :
go, come, live, sing, etc
She's never late for work.
I've just arrived.
I always have coffee in the morning.
They both live in Canada.
◇where + when
Come here now.
I don't go to work on Saturdays.
